Mother's Day Out

So I got the big idea to put them in Mother's Day Out one day a week. It is called "Sprouts" - cute, right? at the Baptist Church near us. Just one day from 9-2; I figured it would be good for them and I could get some work done, and then the time that I was spending with them the rest of the days would be more quality. So we get all ready and make it there by 9am (this proved quite a challenge for me). Above is a pic before we walked in - when they were still oblivious. It was all okay, even walking in to the little room, but then they realized I was leaving. I hung around and watched through the window for a little while, but I didn't want to be one of "those" moms making teachers uncomfortable etc. So I headed on out. As I walked out the front door of the Church (their room is in the back) I could still hear Charis screaming. It was so sad, and I was pretty much out of sorts all day. I got to go get them at 1:45 though and Charis looked like she'd had a rough day. They told me that the kids cried pretty much the first hour. But Price appeared to be having fun when I got back there, and Charis was walking around holding "Ray-Ray" her little bunny sleep aid. The biggest problem with all of this is that they only napped for 45 minutes the whole time there! They usually nap from about 9:30 or 10 - 11:30 or 12! So they were pretty tired, and unfortunately still unable to nap once we got home. So I am still undecided if this is worth it and will probably give it a couple more tries. But if there's no improvement by the beginning of October, we're probably done - at least until the first of the year.

"Don't mess with me or my brother!" Doesn't she look tough?!

One funny story on the day...Price's carseat is in the middle, so I actually have to get in the car to get him out. So I was back there unbuckling him and the crazy wind (remember the nice weather last week!) blew my door closed. So I get him undone and go to get out of the car, and I remember one of my friends showed me how to child lock the back doors. Fabulous. So I had to crawl over the middle console and get back out the front. Being a little less agile than I used to be, this was a pretty awkward maneuver for me.

So please pray for us, that this MDO situation either resolves or ends soon!

Carly - I know dropping them off the first time is always so hard! Karsyn ran after me on Thursday crying. It will get easier! Let us know how it goes.

At one day a week – it may take them awhile to get acclimated. Once they do though – they’ll like it. (It’ll just take a while for them to accept it in their routine). About half the time, Caedyn lunges to her teacher for a hug in the morning and never looks back at me! She still has her mornings though when she’s not thrilled about “school”, but they’re farther and further between . . . .
You’ll be fine Mama – just know it’s harder for you then it is for them.

Your carseat story is hilarious! I laughed out loud here at work reading about it! :-)

I'm sure it's harder on you than on them :) It does take time to get adjusted for everyone! Hang in there.
