Halloween 2007

Dressed the babies up as "Peas in a Pod" - how appropriate!

Baby dedication

We participated in the baby dedication ceremony at Fellowship Church October 7, 2007. Several of the families from our hometeam participated as well. It was really neat to be able to share this special day with these close friends.

graduating to the crib

By September, the babies had outgrown the bassinet and we moved them into a crib together.

A family outing

This is one of our first family pictures. On a pretty day in September, 2007 we loaded everyone up and headed to Southlake Town Square to enjoy the day. With some help from Grandma we got some cute pics.

meeting the great-grandparents

Labor Day, 2007, we took our first road trip to Abilene to visit family. The babies got to meet their great-grandparents. They were excellent little travelers!

Sleeping arrangements

Once home, we put the babies together in a bassinet in their own room. This was a very good arrangement, and the babies seemed to take comfort in being nestled in there together.

Happy birthday Charis & Price!

They decided I'd gone long enough. On June 20, 2007, at 38 and 1/2 weeks, they decided it was time to induce. At 8am, the doctor broke my water and I started having contractions. Despite my big plans of doing the Bradley Method, I had a C-section at about 6:40 pm. Apparently you need to be quite a bit tougher than I am to be successful with this method. Anyway, the babies weighed in at 6 lbs 10 oz EACH! This is pretty big for twins.

Not only did I get big really quick,

I also got really big! This me on the actual delivery date, June 20, 2007.

Pickles and ice cream

I had a great pregnancy. I was not sick, and I really did not have any cravings or major aversions. With twins, I got big pretty quick, but I was fortunate to feel great the whole time! Here's Chris and me at our 5 year anniversary, December 29, 2006. I was almost 3 months along.

About having kids...

About 3 years into marriage we decided we were ready to try to have a baby. About a year after that, we began to wonder what was taking so long! I really began to get worried. We decided to see a specialist in January, 2006. We went to the Center for Assisted Reproduction where we tried several different procedures. Finally after 3 failed IUI's we decided to do invitro. We began that process in September 2006, and learned that we were pregnant in October. Almost immediately, we learned that we were expecting twins!

Vacations

Over the next several years, we took lots of great vacations, enjoying our time together without kids. This is us in Belize in 2003. We also went to Guatamala several times, as well as Baltimore, Nashville, Canada, Chicago, Cancun (w/ the whole family), Santa Fe (w/ Kaspars), Las Vegas (for Long wedding), Palm Beach (for Sciubba wedding) and Boston (for Kendra's marathon).

Starting from the beginning...

Since I have never blogged I thought I'd go back to the beginning and summarize the last 6 years in a few sentences...

We were married December 29, 2001 at Travis Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Worth. We were both 26.
